The Six Samurai - Zanji : Does it need to survive the battle?

We have received a ruling from Konami that answers the often-asked "Does Zanji need to survive" question:
Question:
I control “The Six Samurai – Zanji” and another “Six Samurai” monster (with a different name), and I attack my opponent’s Attack Position “Cyber Dragon” with “Zanji”. Zanji will be destroyed by the battle, but will “Cyber Dragon” still be destroyed by Zanji’s effect? In other words, does Zanji need to remain on the field for his effect to activate?
 
Answer:
The "Cyber Dragon" will be destroyed by the effect of "The Six Samurai - Zanji".
"The Six Samurai - Zanji" does not need to survive the battle.
